Curly is a little dogging robot (yep-you read that right; dogging not dog) from Dribble-on-the Gusset. He has been specifically trained to hunt out used shammy leathers and his record was finding 257 after the Great Grimsby carpark spectacular in 2006. Beryl (the hostess with the mostess) was given the task of recycling them into a sculpture of a Mini Metro with a paint finish that made it look like a plasterers radio. She also got someone in to make it interactive-using 543 sex toys so it rocks about like a jelly in a hurricane. Winning the Turner Prize in 2008, Beryl said she couldn’t have done it without the effort of the Grimsby fraternity-especially noting the paint finish.
Curly stands at 58cm tall, 58cm long and 38cm wide. He’s made from a wooden writing box, some wooden bowls, serving trays and a plunger type thingy.
