I've never built a pirate robot before but I had the hat you see in the pictures (it's off the top of a Victorian wardrobe) in stock and offered it up as a 'dressing' to echo the nice wood detailing on the rest of the 'bot. As soon as I put it on the head I saw a pirate and made the rest of the robot to suit. He has 2 vintage Edison bulbs (easily available on eBay) that are turned on via a switch on the rear. The skull and crossbones on the front is also turned on via a switch on the rear.
He stands at 90cm tall and he took me 2 and a half days to build-hence the price.
